Note on IP addresses: We never store raw IP addresses. IP addresses are immediately hashed using a one-way cryptographic hash before storage, making them non-reversible. This hash is used only for click deduplication and rate limiting.
3. The War Record
The war record (leaderboard) is a permanent, publicly visible log of every ad purchase. It displays:
- Your name or brand name
- Your ad title and description
- Your ad image
- The price you paid
- Your reign duration
This information is displayed publicly on the Site to all visitors, indefinitely. This is a core feature of TryToDethrone.me that you acknowledge and consent to by making a purchase. Your email address is never displayed publicly.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process and fulfill your purchase
- Display your ad during your reign
- Send purchase confirmation and dethronement notification emails
- Maintain the permanent war record
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- Deduplicate ad clicks to provide accurate click counts
- Respond to your support inquiries
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for targeted advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for their marketing purposes.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
Stripe (Payment Processing)
All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you make a purchase, your payment information is transmitted directly to Stripe and is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy. We receive a transaction confirmation and payment intent ID from Stripe but never your full card details.
Google Fonts
The Site loads the Inter font from Google Fonts, which may log your IP address and user agent. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Shock Hosting (Web Hosting)
The Site is hosted on Shock Hosting servers. Standard server access logs may be maintained by the hosting provider.
6. Cookies and Tracking
We use only one cookie: a PHP session cookie used to maintain your session during the purchase flow. This cookie is strictly necessary for the Site to function (specifically for CSRF protection during checkout). It expires when you close your browser.
We do not use:
- Analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels)
- Advertising cookies
- Social media tracking pixels
- Any persistent tracking cookies
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
For all users
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to the limitations below.
Limitations on deletion
Because the war record is a core, permanent feature of the product you purchased, we cannot remove your entry from the war record upon request. Your name, ad content, purchase price, and reign duration form a permanent part of the historical record. This is disclosed at the time of purchase and is a fundamental feature of TryToDethrone.me.
We can, however, delete your email address and any private data not displayed in the war record upon request.
California residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell (we do not sell personal information).
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information).
- Non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights.

- Contract performance: Processing necessary to fulfill your purchase.
- Legitimate interests: Security, fraud prevention, click deduplication.

8. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Hashing of IP addresses before storage
- Parameterized database queries to prevent injection attacks
- Environment-based credential storage (never in source code)
- Rate limiting on all purchase endpoints
No security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
9. Data Retention
- War record entries: Permanent (name, ad content, price, reign duration)
- Email addresses: Retained until deletion request, subject to war record limitations
- Click tracking data: 90 days
- Rate limiting files: Purged automatically after the rate limit window
- Temp upload files: Purged within 24 hours if payment not completed
10. Children's Privacy
TryToDethrone.me is not directed at children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 18, please contact us immediately at hello@trytodethroneme.com.
